One subscription, more than one room watching what it wants — that is XtraView. Stop the standoff over the remote by linking a second (or third) decoder so the lounge, the main bedroom, the patio or the braai room can each watch their own channel, all on the one DStv account.
The job is partly cabling and partly configuration. We run a neat link between the decoders — no small thing in a bigger Worcester home or a guesthouse with rooms spread across a property — set up the XtraView link on your account, and test that both boxes hold their channels independently. Done properly it just works; done carelessly you get one room knocking the other offline, which is exactly the kind of "fix" we get called out to undo.
It pairs naturally with an Explora or Ultra upgrade on the main TV, and for a busy household it is one of the most worthwhile things you can do — there is a real-world walkthrough in our post on setting up XtraView for a busy household. For guesthouses and larger setups it often goes hand in hand with a commercial install.
Whatever the layout, we will work out the tidiest way to get every room watching, and sort the account side so there are no surprises. We cover homes and guest farms right across the valley.
